If you're stuck in a rut or staying stagnant out of fear of the 'Engagement Gap', I get it. Things are changing. It's scary. This is your livelihood. There is no Plan B.

BUT stay with me; fasten your seatbelt. I'm about to pilot you through all the turbulence.

There's a problem with how most wedding pros are marketing in 2024.

Well, 3 problems.

I've been working in the wedding industry for nearly a decade. And *this* is the first time seeing a clientele shift from Millennial → Gen Z.

here's why this matters

Millennials, we're savvy digital trailblazers. We're the ultimate detectives, sleuthing out every option before swiping that plastic. Brand rep and a heap of social thumbs-up? Yep, those matter.

But we're comfortable doing the same thing over and over again. Heck, we needed that security blanket of comfort growing up in the 9/11 and 2008 recession era.  

But then comes Gen Z, where everyone wants to put their own spin. If it's not personalized, they're ghosting. 

Insights like this have to inform and shift our marketing moving forward.

01. Generational Clientele Shift

AI’s changing the game for most—if not everyone.

Authenticity takes a backseat as human connections wane, replaced by AI (Automated Interactions, that is).

You fall into either one of two camps: 'ChatGPT is a staple in my open tabs', or 'I've never used it & I never will'. 

No matter which camp you fall into, AI is rapidly changing the creative lands from AI Generative Fill to AI-powered wedding planning tools. AI will touch your skillset & your industries marketing.

02. RAPID CHANGING WEDDING INDUSTRY TECH

If your branding doesn't reflect the shift in the market, you're DOA.

A 2023 study by Think Splendid showed that 73% of couples found their wedding vendors through an internet search.

And on average, couples are deciding between 2-5 same wedding vendors. Knowing that – would your website be able to sell for you?

Most wedding pros are still hiding behind the same website they bootstrapped together five years ago & hoping couples don’t notice that the other guy’s website is better, well they do.

And from your outdated website to lip-syncing on IG Reels, the same tactics that worked like magic just a few years ago aren't gonna fly in 2024.
